Following graduation from law school, I returned to Connecticut seeking a “smaller firm” atmosphere in lieu of the big city law practice. Immediately upon my return, while I was exposed to many areas of the law, I was drawn to real estate and corporate work. My early years were spent immersed in real estate transactions and bank financing deals. As the economy soured, the shift to bank loan workouts and transactions involving the disposition of bank-owned real estate was the natural evolution.

During this period, I also gained valuable experience serving on the Advisory Committee for the amendment of the Common Interest Ownership Act in Connecticut and, subsequently, working with a variety of troubled common interest communities as well as new residential and commercial developments.  Thereafter, bank lending work resumed and transactional work again became the mainstay. I was able to obtain significant experience in borrower representation in conduit loans and government-assisted financing projects. During this entire time, however, work in the areas of real estate and deals involving the purchase and sale of businesses continued.

In 1993, I was appointed to the Inland Wetlands Agency of the Town of Woodbridge, and have continued as Chairman since that date.  My work with the Agency has served as a natural supplement to my professional work in the land use area.

While the economic environment continued to ebb and flow, my thirty years of varied experience has proved adaptable to the constantly changing circumstances.  In recent years, work  representing both lenders and developers in connection with  the financing of construction projects has been a significant part of my practice.   The purchase and sale of automobile dealerships as well as regular representation of landlords and tenants under commercial leases has constituted a large percentage of my working hours.

As an offshoot of my real estate-centered practice, I have gained significant experience in the area of real estate property tax appeals and regularly serve as a Special Master in the New Haven Superior Court with respect to such matters.

In my spare time, I have served as chairman of the Board of Directors of Shakesperience Productions, Inc., a non-profit providing educational theater to Connecticut school children, and l spend down time in Vermont, the Rhode Island shore and Madeira Island, Portugal.
