Ms. Barker concentrates her practice in Corporate, Tax and Business law, particularly in the area of business transactions, including purchases and sales of businesses (mergers & acquisitions), business owner disputes and divorces, and computer, e-commerce and internet law. She also represents foreign business entities doing business in the US, consulting in particular on the legal and business cultural challenges associated with a U.S. business launch.

Featured as one of the Region's Top Deal-Makers by Business New Haven Magazine, 2002, Ms. Barker has become known for her creative thinking and as a problem solver, particularly in the area of business owner disputes and divorces.

A recipient of an American Jurisprudence Award in Debtor/Creditor Law, Ms Barker served as a Managing Editor of the Michigan State University College of Law Review and as a Clerk to Honorable John Hausner, Michigan Circuit Court. She is an executive committee member of the Connecticut Bar Association Business Law Sections, and a member of the American Bar Association Tax and Technology Law Sections. She has also served as a Chair of Connecticut Bar Association YLS Executive Committee, YLS Tax Committee, and Women’s' Roundtable.
